FP-5 Flamingo Cruise Missile: Ukraine's New Long-Range Strategic Strike Weapon
FP-5 "Flamingo": Ukraine's Indigenous Cruise Missile with Up to 3,000 km Range

The FP-5 "Flamingo" is a Ukrainian ground-launched long-range cruise missile developed by the defense company Fire Point to conduct deep-precision strikes against high-value military and industrial targets.

Designed for large-scale domestic production, the missile combines a long operational range with a heavy payload, giving Ukraine the ability to strike targets far beyond the front line. It entered serial production after successful development and testing, becoming one of Ukraine's most capable indigenous long-range strike systems.

Designed for Deep-Strike Operations

The FP-5 Flamingo is intended to target military infrastructure, command centers, logistics hubs, ammunition depots, industrial facilities, and other strategic assets located deep inside hostile territory. Its reported 3,000-kilometer range provides the capability to reach targets across much of European Russia, making it one of Ukraine's longest-range domestically developed cruise missiles.

Optimized for Mass Production

Unlike many advanced Western cruise missiles that prioritize stealth and sophisticated terrain-following guidance, the Flamingo emphasizes lower production cost, simplified manufacturing, and rapid output. Fire Point has stated that production is being scaled to manufacture large numbers of missiles each month to sustain long-range strike operations.

Expanding Ukraine's Long-Range Strike Capability

The FP-5 Flamingo represents a significant step in Ukraine's effort to build an indigenous long-range precision strike capability. Alongside other domestically developed missile and drone programs, it reflects Kyiv's strategy of expanding its ability to strike strategic military and industrial targets while reducing dependence on foreign-supplied long-range weapons.
