Avon Aerospace ARD-40 "Stalker" Autonomous Drone Conducts Armed Flight Operations Over Mountainous Terrain

Avon Aerospace has introduced the ARD-40 "Stalker," a Vanguard-class autonomous rotary-wing unmanned aircraft designed to perform multiple battlefield missions in highly contested environments. The platform combines troop transport, combat search and rescue (CSAR), Counter-UAS operations, and loyal wingman capabilities into a single autonomous system, offering armed forces greater operational flexibility while reducing risks to human crews.

Built for High-Threat Battlefields

The ARD-40 "Stalker" is engineered to operate in dangerous environments where conventional helicopters may face significant threats. The unmanned platform can support troop insertion and extraction, transport mission-critical supplies, and conduct combat search and rescue (CSAR) missions alongside the URD-114, helping recover isolated personnel without exposing pilots to enemy fire.

Loyal Wingman for Attack Helicopters

One of the drone's key capabilities is its ability to operate as a loyal wingman for manned attack helicopters. Working alongside crewed aircraft, the ARD-40 can perform reconnaissance, extend battlefield awareness, identify threats, and support combat missions while allowing pilots to remain farther from hostile air defenses.

Counter-UAS and Force Protection

The ARD-40 is also designed to perform Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (Counter-UAS) missions against hostile drones. Its autonomous capabilities enable it to detect, track, and engage aerial threats, providing additional protection for ground forces and critical military assets in increasingly drone-dominated battlefields.
